Our packaging products are described below. If you have questions about whether we can provide the type of product you need, please contact us.
Folding cartons and other paperboard products are our oldest product line and the mainstay of our business. Our presses are capable of running up to 24-point boardstock, and up to 7 color stations including UV topcoat. Most of our work is on virgin SBS stock, but we also produce on Kraft-back and clay-coated newsback stocks.
We produce a variety of styles including straight line and fifth-panel designs with and without hanger holes. Carton closure styles include sealed end, reverse tuck, and auto bottom constructions. We can produce blanks up to 23” by 17”.
All paperboard products are die-cut in-line using rotary tools, which are unmatched for consistency and precision. This eliminates die cut variations associated with the more common flat-bed processes. As a result, packaging lines can run better, and set-ups are quicker.
Like most flexo printers, we can produce a wide variety of pressure-sensitive labels for a wide range of uses. Our UV inks have exceptional scuff resistance, even on films. This permits us to produce high gloss labels without the extra cost of over-laminates. Our 10” and 18” wide presses allow us to run multiple across for high volume labels.
Radio-frequency packaging uses high energy radio waves to seal clear and opaque PVC materials. Used extensively in toothbrush packaging, this packaging provides an alternative to blister cards using adhesives.
UTP is a leader in this market segment. Our customers range from southern California to Mexico City.
Increasingly, consumer products are packaged in pouches. We produce rolls of printed pouch material for form fill and seal operations. Pouch material comes in a wide variety of materials for different applications from puncture and tear resistant Valeron to easier to open foils and films.
Walk down most shopping aisles and you are sure to notice point of sale signage dangling off store shelves. Usually printed two sides, we can print and die cut in-line PVC or other materials to help you turn shoppers into buyers.
We also produce a shelf label that is easy for in-store personnel to label shelf slots.
Like many of our products, header cards come off our presses ready to ship. Our short run capabilities and fast turn around make this an inexpensive packaging option for many of our customers.
Our equipment produces printed, die-cut products in a single in-line process. We have the capabilities to print up to 3 colors on the back of many products, also in-line. As a result, we avoid the extra costs and time associated with most sheet fed presses that require several steps before the product is completed.
We print on a wide range of substrates 2 mil to 24 point including SBS; Kraft-back; CCNB; PVC, VALERON, PET, metallic and prismatic foils, films, Tyvek, and many others.
As a supplier of printing plates to other West Michigan printers, UTP knows how to make high quality printing plates. We routinely print using 150 line screens, and we are able to work with most current graphics packages.
